Ivy Playbook Consulting was founded to address a group often left behind by college consultants: student-athletes. We work mainly with high school student-athletes who aim to compete at the collegiate level, especially in the Ivy League. We strive to empower those we work with to achieve their academic and athletic dreams through tailored guidance, mentorship, and advice.

Who We Are
Ivy Playbook Consulting is a college applicant and athletic recruiting consulting service tailored for high school athletes aspiring to compete at the collegiate level, particularly at Ivy League and other elite institutions. Founded by Catherine Buroker, an All-American swimmer from the University of Pennsylvania, we leverage first-hand experience and expertise to guide student-athletes through the rigorous recruiting and admissions processes. Our mission is to empower young athletes to achieve their academic and athletic goals by providing personalized and strategic guidance.
What We Do
A former Ivy League athlete, I understand what it takes to stand out and succeed in recruiting. Recruiting in the Ivy League can be particularly complicated compared to most conferences across the NCAA, with additional rules and regulations to ensure an effective balance between academics and athletics.
I also have experience in the recruiting process with several other Top 25 colleges and universities, including Duke, the University of Chicago, Georgetown, Williams, Amherst, and the US Naval Academy.
We provide comprehensive academic application support services to enhance your college admissions process. I help students craft compelling essays to reflect their unique voices and experiences in a manner that helps them stand out in a competitive environment.
Additionally, we offer targeted SAT and ACT preparation, equipping students with the strategies and skills needed to achieve their highest scores.
I have interviewed both early decision and regular decision applicants in my role as a Penn Alumni Ambassador. I know what it takes to ace a college interview: what questions to ask, what information to present, and how to describe your high school academics and extracurriculars to make them sound as extraordinary as they are.
